    Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our team in West Columbia, South Carolina.

    The Benefits Specialist will be responsible for seamlessly onboarding new employees into our benefits administration software, conducting comprehensive benefits orientation sessions, enrolling new hires into the ICE 401(k) plan, and providing dedicated support to address any inquiries or challenges regarding employee benefits.

    Additionally, this pivotal role will collaborate closely with the Human Resources Director, lending support across various HR functions as needed.

    Conduct benefits orientation meetings for new hires, explaining the ICE benefits plans and answering questions from new hires. Enter new employees into benefits administration enrollment software and send invitation emails with instructions and web portal links.
    Assist employees who choose to participate in Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
    Send enrollment documents to payroll for correct premiums to be set up.
    Update medical/dental coverage for employees who have life events and send updated enrollment documentation to payroll.

    Assist HR Director with benefits open enrollment preparation, employee meetings and employees completing annual open enrollment in benefits administration software.

    Set up new employees in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and send the invitation email, ensure new employees complete their HRIS onboarding items.

    Forward driver's license information of employees with company vehicles to the vehicle fleet manager.

    Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.

    Performs other HR duties as assigned.
    Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and benefits administration software systems.
    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite/365 or related software.
    ICE is a drug-free workplace.
    Minimum of 3 years of benefits administration experience required, preferably with a private sector firm.
    Experience with HRIS/benefits administration software required.

    This position predominantly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking.

    The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
    The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule.
