    Description

    We are looking for a candidate to fill a Lab Technician position in Riverview, FL.

    The role involves conducting laboratory tests to determine the chemical and physical characteristics of heavy equipment oil for quality control or process control. Processing fluid samples accurately and efficiently is crucial for ensuring sample accuracy.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment to test oil products.
    • Tests oil samples for qualities like purity, stability, viscosity, and density, ensuring conformity to specifications.
    • Records test results, prepares reports, and charts as needed.
    • Prepares chemical solutions following standard formulas.
    • Maintains accurate records for all units.
    • Notifies customers/internal personnel of necessary samples.
    • Receives and organizes samples daily by branch, customer, and compartments.
    • Registers samples and test results daily.
    • Prepares reports within 24 hours and distributes copies.
    • Conducts monthly inventory of supplies.
    • Maintains and calibrates equipment regularly.
    • Keeps the lab and equipment clean, orderly, and safe.
    • Performs tasks safely with required protective equipment.

    Hours:

    • Monday-Friday with a start time of 6am or 7am. Fast-paced environment with possible overtime.

    Education:

    • Ideal candidate has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field.
    • 2+ years of lab experience can substitute for a degree. Experience with Titrations, Viscometer, GC, ICP, FTIR is desirable.
