    Description

    The GIS Analyst is responsible for maintaining the enterprise GIS deployment and implementing new GIS functionality to meet business needs. The GIS Analyst ensures GIS users leverage accurate and relevant spatial information to create insight for high-value decisions across the company.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintain GIS content to ensure datasets and spatial tools are current, accurate, and relevant
    • Edit, analyze, perform quality control, and create/maintain metadata on existing GIS datasets
    • Use geoprocessing tools, geocoding services, and spatial overlays to create, edit, and enrich both spatial and non-spatial datasets
    • Research and implement opportunities to improve decision-making with enhanced GIS data quality
    • Interact with enterprise data systems using Python, SQL Server Management Studio, ArcCatalog, and Alteryx to update GIS datasets and run spatial analyses
    • Create and maintain web mapping applications to meet business needs across the organization
      • Create, publish, and optimize map services through ArcGIS Server
    • Configure web mapping applications, dashboards, and reports leveraging ArcGIS Enterprise, VertiGIS Studio, and Power BI
    • Develop new GIS web tools and functionality with VertiGIS Studio Workflow
    • Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues using Fiddler or other debugging software and work closely with the Information Technology Department and vendor technical support teams
    • Maintain enterprise GIS software and infrastructure. Create and update documentation on GIS maintenance and monitoring processes resulting in SOPs.
    • Support GIS users, including senior management, through training, technical support, and spatial analysis.
    • Prepare ad hoc analyses and mapping requests for senior management.

    Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
    • 2+ years of experience in GIS support responsibilities, including application development, database administration, geodatabase design, web mapping, user support, etc.
    • Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Business Analyst, and Portal for ArcGIS
    • High proficiency with Esri ModelBuilder, Python, and ArcPy
    • Experience with GIS database editing, QA/QC processes, and geoprocessing
    • Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or other relational database systems
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to effectively manage large amounts of data
    • High level of initiative, willingness to assume responsibility, and ability to multi-task while meeting multiple deadlines
    • Attention to detail required

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with VertiGIS Studio, Power BI, and/or Tableau
      • Familiarity with IIS, web servers, and Fiddler
    • Experience with Alteryx Designer or Alteryx Server
    • Experience with R, JavaScript, VBScript or other scripting languages
    • Experience with programming ETL operations
    • GISP or Esri Certification a plus
    • Retail experience

    This role is hybrid with the option to work from home two days each week. Relocation assistance is provided.
