    Job title: Sr. Systems Administrator
    Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid)
    Duration: 12+ months
    Type: contract

    Job Description :
    • The Client requires the assistance of a contract resource to serve as a Sr. Systems Administrator to support the development, Automation, and implementation of portfolio applications.
    • This position will be responsible for performing tasks associated with the applications environment management, build/deploy processes for the Client and Child Welfare applications, and troubleshooting build related issues for the portfolio applications.
    • This position is responsible for providing lead role in build and deploy activities in large number of test, development and production environments utilized by the portfolio program applications. This responsibility encompasses configurations and troubleshooting of web layer, OS layer (AIX, Redhat Linux/CentOS and Windows operating systems), the IBM WebSphere with clustering, Job scheduler, Dynatrace, and other related products.
    • This position will also perform functions and enablement tasks which includes Automation; maintaining and using CI/CD pipelines like Copado;
    • Supporting the creation and configuration of AWS EC2 instances using CFT scripts, gathering firewall requests where needed, and installing applications for various components; Supporting the setup of Ansible scripts for automating deployments of various applications, JobScheduler and other components.
    • This position will work closely with the Engineers, Operations and Maintenance Team and Database Administrators to ensure proper environmental functionality and performance.
    Required Skills:
    • Knowledge and experience of administering J2EE applications in WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat and Jboss.
    • Knowledge and experience working with following operating systems: RHEL and Windows Servers.
    • Knowledge and experience in name and ip-based virtual hosts, and clustering/load-balancing technologies.
    • Experience in J2EE-specific application hosting, including VM tuning, application tracing/debugging, and application deployment.
    • Experience in container resource configuration (JDBC, JMS, et al), and security configuration.
    • Experience with J2EE application building/deployment techniques and tools including, but not limited to Ant, Maven, Ivy etc
    • Experience with automation technologies for the related platforms (OS and Application) such as Ansible, UNIX shell script, Perl, Python, etc.
    • Knowledge and experience with hardware specs evaluation, platform sizing/capacity planning to support an enterprise application hosting environment.
    • Experience in creation and configuration of AWS EC2 instances using CFT scripts and installing applications for various components.
    • Knowledge and experience in managing AWS based infrastructure and applications
    • Full Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines
