Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Scientist for our food processing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data that will be used to support our food quality and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform Food Analyses: Conduct physical and chemical analyses of food samples to determine their characteristics. This includes testing for color, consistency, fat content, caloric content, and nutrients.
2. Preparation of Solutions and Reagents: Prepare solutions and reagents for testing. Use chemistry instruments such as balances, ovens, furnaces, and extractors.
3. Quality Control: Participate in quality control processes to ensure that our food products meet certain standards and regulations. Understand and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for lab and production settings.
4. Data Entry and Analysis: Ensure the accuracy of test results and perform data entry. Analyze test results and compare them with standard tables of caloric and nutritional content.
5. Problem Solving: Recognize routine and non-routine problems and consult with supervisors as necessary. Handle simple routine problems independently.
6. Maintenance of Laboratory Equipment: Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
7. Samples: prepare samples of products, chemicals, and food ingredients as needed by the sales team for customers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience in a food laboratory setting is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a full time job with full benefits. This job is ON SITE Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
