DEVAR provides leadership, coordination and support services to help the university meet its mission of research, teaching and service by building philanthropic support and executing approved fundraising programs that support the university's highest priorities and initiatives.

    JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Managing Director of Development of Annual and Special Gifts Program, the Associate Director of Development will identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual prospects capable of making leadership level gifts (gifts from $1,000 to $50,000) and for cultivating a pool of well-qualified prospective donors that may make larger major gifts (which exceed $50,000) for the University's priorities.

This is fundraising position focused on the strategic identification, qualification and cultivation of parent prospects with a goal of building and maintaining a pipeline of prospects for the university at large.

The Associate Director of Development of Parent Giving is a skilled fundraising professional with in-depth understanding of the field, who independently performs the full range of responsibilities of a university development officer, analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope, and determines solutions.

Using advanced fundraising concepts, may plan, organize, and direct fundraising campaigns which include multiple components.

The results of the incumbent's efforts have major impact on overall program goals and assignments and are at both the "leadership annual giving" level ($1,000-$49,999) as well as the "major gifts" level ($50K+), including building and managing a well-documented and active portfolio of individuals, capable of giving $50K or more to secure major gifts, and planned gifts.

This position will also solicit annual special gifts from individuals.

This position is metric-driven and expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established through an annual business plan and aligned with the assigned portfolio and DEVAR metric guidelines.

This is a fundraising position focused on developing new donor relationships.

Guided by a "donor centric" approach, the incumbent will strategically build and steward existing relationships using various communication methods, including in person, video, texting, phone, social media and virtual visits.

This position requires good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, and works independently, collaboratively, and collegially as part of a diverse, matrix organization.
