    Job Description SummaryThe GE Aerospace Engineering Team is looking for experienced mechanical design engineers who are ready to work on the fastest growing engine in Aviation history, LEAP.

    The LEAP engine is a culmination of cutting-edge technology, world-class reliability and unparalleled performance, and is the engine of choice to power the Airbus A320neo, the Boeing 737 MAX, and the COMAC C919.

    LEAP's 15% reduction in fuel burn (over prior generation of narrowbody applications) is moving the needle on sustainability today and proving out the next generation of sustainable technologies like ceramic composites, advanced turbine cooling, and additive manufacturing.

    Our LEAP engine incorporates some of GE's latest technological innovations which are challenging our engineers to test the limits of what is possible and define non-traditional design solutions that keep GE Aerospace at the forefront of innovation.

    The Sr Staff Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of the LEAP Engineering Design Team in Cincinnati, OH.

    They will leverage operational judgement, technical expertise and leadership skills on turbomachinery design and product improvement activities that ultimately power our customers, lift people up and bring them home safely.

    Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesThe Sr Staff Mechanical Design Engineer will:

    Execute, provide guidance, and collaborate with GE Technical Experts on the design, analysis, and evaluation of design projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and LEAP product / program requirements.

    Document, prepare and present technical data and results in technical program reviews and internal and external customers.
    In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work as well as mentor others.
    Provide timely communications to team members on significant issues or developments and promote open dialogue.
    Work on teams to lift up and support organizational initiatives.

    Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or universityAt least 5 years experience in an engineering positionDesired CharacteristicsDemonstrated expertise in turbomachinery mechanical designSignificant experience in the design, testing, and certification of turbomachineryStrong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and principlesAbility to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization and provide guidance to engineers with less experienceDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems with a sense of urgency#LI-EDRICH#LEAPThis role requires access to U.S.

    export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
