Department Overview

Join our team at Applied Technology Services (ATS), the internal service provider for technical services at PG&E. We focus on Nondestructive Examination (NDE) where we provide expert consultations, inspections, and examinations. Our toolbox includes X-Ray radiography, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, remote video inspection, visual inspections, and more material property verification techniques.

Position Summary

We are looking for an NDE Expert Specialist/Engineer with advanced ultrasonic testing skills. You will lead complex inspection programs, support the development of new technologies, and manage projects throughout PG&E's service territory.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in advanced Ultrasonic Testing (UT) with a focus on various techniques.

• Support the maintenance of the NDE certification program.

• Coach and mentor NDE personnel in ultrasonic testing.

• Collaborate with clients to implement new NDE technologies.

• Provide consulting services to internal and external clients.

• Participate in industry meetings and conferences.

• Manage complex NDE projects.

• Prepare reports and proposals for projects.

• Develop and maintain NDE procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Associates degree, non-engineering Bachelor's degree, technical trade/military school, or equivalent experience
• 7 years of related experience

Desired:

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent
• 7+ years' experience as a Level III NDE Expert
• Knowledge of engineering principles and regulations
• Experience with various NDE inspection techniques
• Certifications in MT or PT Level II or Level III
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and NDE inspection software
