    **Introduction to the job**

ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the worlds leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

Im looking for an equipment engineer that is experienced in semiconductor or adjacent high tech equipment maintenance. You will be part of the technical core team CS DUV/YS Service Engineering, and work in close collaboration with the CS Apps team. The YS team consists of two (2) engineers at start and you play a crucial role in the setup of the metrology platform transfer from Taiwan to Arizona. Having a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset will make you, ASML, and our customer successful. Initially, this role will be a mixed 1st/2nd line role. The position offers opportunities to expand into other equipment roles including application support of YieldStar.

The holder of this position will be based in ASML Phoenix (AZ, USA), reporting directly to the on site DUV/YS equipment manager, and having a strong dotted line to the on-site CS Apps and CS US YieldStar program manager. If required for your skill gap, you will get your initial training from other senior engineers that are located at other sites.

*This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.*

    **Role and responsibilities**

As a CS engineer, you are responsible for maintenance, upgrade, and overall performance of the ASML YieldStar hardware. This will also include maturation of the YieldStar, and technical/non-technical support to ongoing and future work. You will be regularly expected to work with applications to further customer testing, and system (matching) qualification.

With your YS colleague in the AZ site team, you are customer-facing and lead all technical activities and status reporting. You are relentless in driving the success of the ASML metrology platform introduction during this new fab startup and setup of high volume manufacturing in US. Initially, the focus will be on installs and establishing platform node implementation. As YieldStar FSE engineer, you own the operational project execution of the install schedule. Quickly, this will shift to an HVM operation where focus is on ensuring that the customer can keep running their metrology and control loop process reliably 24x7. Driven by a determination to never give up, youll troubleshoot YieldStar issues based on your technical intimate relation with your customer counterpart. You link your own trouble shooting to diagnostics and solutions from GSC/D&E.

You collaborate seamlessly as a OneTeam with the local equipment engineers, business line stakeholders, senior staff and account team, as well as counterparts at ASML Taiwan and, of course, customer stakeholders. This is a position that will require strong ownership, care for quality, a strong customer intimacy and communication. You are able to guide and coach junior and/or non-YieldStar dedicated engineers into accelerated technical career development. You collaborate with applications peers in the region and across the globe to develop and implement best practices with your colleagues, and strive for effectiveness and efficiency. You have a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset during the early engagement phase.

You are able to represent ASML as a technical expert in the field and get recognition of this by the customer. Due to the scope and impact of this role, it offers you the opportunity to grow further in technical expertise roles, or project or management leadership roles.

Monitor, maintain and optimize equipment on a daily basis to enhance functionality and prevent problems.

Operate as the escalation owner for all complex issues on YieldStar, together with your other shift peer engineer.

Provide direct support and assistance to less YieldStar experienced ASML personnel as necessary.

Perform administrative and coordination duties, including procedure changes, pass-downs, work orders, field service reports.

Develop and implement best known methods on necessary topics.

Provide project and coordination support to the YieldStar process node introduction.

Non-exempt position requires the willingness to work flexible shifts and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays; to arrange jointly with manager and colleague engineer in YS.
