- Quality Analysis and Metrics: Assesses quality metrics/data to spot trends necessitating further scrutiny for identifying failure root causes, advises/executes corrective and preventive measures, and tracks progress to ensure resolution.
- Problem Investigation and Resolution: Probes manufacturing and customer service arising floor issues and recommends suitable courses of action for issue resolution and recurrence prevention.
- Data Management and Reporting: Links data from the MRP system and various business databases. Produces and circulates Quality metric reports.
- Supplier Quality Management & Analysis: Monitors supplier quality performance, communicates non-conformities with internal manufacturing and support units, external suppliers, and management; generates and monitors Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR); supervises RCCAPA to guarantee efficacy, adherence, and enhance supplier quality.
- Procedure Development and Training: Proposes and develops Quality procedures/work instructions. Assists in training department staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Verifies manufacturing processes and supports supplier quality audits. Initiates engineering design change requests for product, process, and cost enhancements.
- General Quality Department Functions: Ensures adherence to company policies and safety measures. Performs various functions within the Quality department.
- Required Experience with a focus on Quality Engineering in a manufacturing setting, particularly in precision machining, fabrication, plating, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic assembly operations.
- Demonstrated competence in enhancing product quality and processes through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles and failure analysis approaches.
- Solid familiarity with standard workshop practices and understanding of quality, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, service, and business procedures.
- Adequate capability in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Proficiency in utilizing manual inspection tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers, gages, optical comparator, scopes).
- Strong analytical skills with focus on detail, documentation, communication, and persistence for issue resolution/closure.
- Self-driven with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively to align with departmental and company targets.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Access, and Word.
- Formal training in Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in GD&T and IPC 600/610/620.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field is mandatory.
- ASQ or CQE certification is preferred.
- Preferably certified in GD&T and IPC 600/610/620.
- Work hours: 8AM – 5PM, Monday – Friday
- Flexibility for overtime if needed.
- Roles span across machine shop, manufacturing, material storage, and office settings.
- Occasional travel may be essential for training, supplier evaluations, etc. The travel might involve overnight stays.
- Tasks include desk/computer work, movement across manufacturing and office zones for extended periods, handling hardware for evaluation, setting up and utilizing metrology and test equipment, and occasional off-facility work.
