    Position Summary
    The Pharmacy Technician I, Dispensing ensures accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, supporting patient care and pharmacy efficiency. This role contributes to Empower's mission of creating innovative medications and expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Supports pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription orders, including accurately refilling medications and maintaining pharmacy records.
    • Reads and interprets prescriber orders for compounded medications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Labels and fills prescription bottles with prescribed medications while maintaining thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical products.
    • Manages inventory by checking stock levels, ordering and expediting supplies, removing outdated drugs, and organizing inventory to maintain an orderly workspace.
    • Maintains production standards and ensures efficiency in all pharmacy operations.
    While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
    Knowledge and Skills

    • Possesses accurate data entry skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and the capability to calculate dosages and perform complex mathematical computations, including rates, ratios, and percentages.

    Experience and Qualifications
    • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience or healthcare related experience preferred.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Must be registered with the Texas Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Trainee.
