    Seattle Orthopedic Surgery Center, a division of Proliance surgeons, has an immediate opening for a full time, experienced sterile processing technician for our busy 9 surgeon, 3 operating room surgery center. We have a team approach and pride ourselves on working together to provide excellent care to all our patients. We are centrally located in the Wallingford neighborhood within walking distance to many restaurants and coffee shops. This role does not require nights, weekends, or holidays.

    The Surgical Technologist Lead in the ASC provides leadership and support to a team of surgical technologists and support staff in addition to direct hands-on support by handling instruments, supplies and equipment after, during and after surgery.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    The key duties and responsibilities of the Surgical Technologist Lead include, but are not limited to:

    Lead

    • Leads other members of the health care team to provide optimal care
    • Assists supervisor in delegating tasks and duties
    • Assists in developing staffing assignments
    • Provides direct assistance to team members
    • Takes an active role on committees and projects within the department

    Surgical Technologist

    • Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience.
    • Maintain a friendly, positive, and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff.
    • Properly handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
    • Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon based on requests and patterns.
    • Constantly monitoring for maintenance of the sterile field.
    • Assist in assuring that the proper supplies, instruments and equipment are available for the procedure.
    • Assist in assuring that equipment is functioning properly.
    • Monitor use of all supplies. Assist with inventory control by proper count of supplies/time used.
    • Continuing education to meet State requirements and keep current with health care changes.
    • Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Center.
    • Take an active role on committees within the department.
    • Identifies actual and potential risk to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.

    Education/Experience

    • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program
    • Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
    • Current State licensure and CPR
    • 1 year of direct experience as a Surgical Technologist, 2 years of direct experience a plus
    • Lead or supervisor experience a plus

    Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
