Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in food preparation, and cooking. This position is essential in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our kitchen operations. If you have a passion for the food industry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. Ability to flip a wok is a bonus. Must be able to work weekends and overtime.
Duties
- Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Assist in the cooking process by preparing sauces, dressings, and other components.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure safe food handling.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation.
- Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management of shortages.
- Participate in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or improvements based on seasonal ingredients.
Experience
- Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role is preferred, especially within the food industry or catering settings.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques are essential.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices is a plus, particularly regarding dietary restrictions and menu planning.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in a dynamic kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
