This is a full-time position for a Correctional Officer in Saint Charles County MO working on an assigned area: perform inmate supervision; custody control escort intake release building security jail recordkeeping tasks under Corporals' and Sergeants' supervisionResponsibilities
- Performs housing unit control center tasks.
- Observes inmate activities maintains discipline security custody control addresses inmate concerns answers questions operates high-security doors observes Correctional Officers in unit sorts opens inspects incoming mail issues hygiene health supplies.
- Performs Internal Transport Officer tasks responds intervenes incidents altercations subdues inmates responds medical emergencies administers first aid conducts cell moves searches escorts inmates appointments visitation attorney visits law library medical dental care arraignment etc counts inmates participates riot control escorts inmates recreation outside unit delivers meals water ice dietary supplements to inmates provides facility courtroom support rooms medical programming etc oversees receipt food supplies overseers repair maintenance personnel conducts disciplinary review inmates assists Booking staff needed documents general physical condition conducts new inmate orientation facility operations housing units handbook monitors facility high-security doors controls inter-facility movement communication accepts receipts bond payments account deposits receives logs computer mail greets directs visitors ensures visitor security monitors cameras controls keys dispatches personnel radio answers routes telephone calls logs activities prepares incident complaint log investigation reports initiates disciplinary reports requests action response rule violation participates ongoing training attends pre-shift meetings maintains knowledge corrections policies procedures practices techniques maintain custody discipline security.
