Job DescriptionSyms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Senior Database Administrator
Department: Veterans Affairs
Location: On-site, Washington, DC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor Oracle, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), and Informatica servers.
Implement Oracle database performance tuning and improvement processes.
Monitor nightly Informatica processes.
Perform daily backup and recovery strategy.
Upgrade and configure OBIEE and Informatica servers.
Configure OBIEE Security.
Manage Oracle users, roles, and object security.
Collaborate with OBIEE, Informatica, Tableau, and Power Business Intelligence (BI) developers to develop performance improvement strategies and plans for execution.
Manage object partitioning and parallel executions.
Develop database compression methodologies.
Coordinate Oracle patches and upgrades with VA's Office of Information Technology (OIT).
Prepare, deliver, and maintain reports and documentation.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Recovery Manager (RMAN).
Experience migrating Oracle database and BI tools from on premises to Cloud Environment.
Experience implementing Oracle database performance tuning and improvement processes.

Professional CertificationsCurrently cleared for or possess Public Trust at tier 2 moderate level or higherYears of Professional Experience5+ years with supporting OBIEE applicationsDesired experiencen/aFormal EducationBachelor's degree in computer science, Electronic Engineering, or other Engineering technical discipline or 8 years of additional relevant experienceCitizenship RequirementU.S. Citizenship required for this specific opportunitySecurity Clearance RequirementsMust possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI)CRITICAL NOTES:
