    Job Summary:

    Coordinate and expedite the flow of material from suppliers to ensure fulfillment of customer demand to meet on-time delivery expectations.

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Monitor customer schedules and supplier delivery timelines to prevent delays that can affect delivery. Ensure quantity and timing of deliveries are managed to meet customer requirements.
    • Communicate with suppliers to confirm shipping dates and track to ensure the supplier remains on schedule to meet their acknowledged dates.
    • Assign tracers to shipments to identify delays once the order is in transit. Monitors shipping notices to avoid potential problems with deliveries.
    • Problem-solving to reduce the impact of late shipments. Identify and address issues related to delinquent or undelivered goods. Exhaust all options to ensure on-time arrival of material, communicating with departments on cost changes and/or shipping delays.
    • Ensure interdepartmental communication with buyers and product support to find alternatives for the customer where possible. Report major shipping problems to Buyers. Compile, record and report supplier performance and progress to management and key stakeholders.
    • Assist Buyers with items that are needed for customer demand.
    • Maintain business relationships with suppliers to ensure their assistance if an unexpected event requires expected shipping of an order.
    • Draft, revise, and distribute material delivery schedules for customer demand.
    • Identify problems in workflows, determine required solutions and improvements, and implement necessary modifications in affected departments and teams.
    • Process inventory transfers between locations. Review and act on transfer reports/requests.
    • Ensure vendor acknowledgments are received and information is updated in the procurement system. Process updates/changes to purchase orders, communicating concerns with the required departments.
    • Manage all company freight claims and disputes resulting from supplier and customer shipments. Implement process improvements that will result in efficiency gains and reduced costs.

    Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • At least one year of experience in production or knowledge of scheduling processes required.
