    Executive Assistant


    The South Carolina Department of Administration is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant who will provide timely and professional support to the agency's Executive Director, Chief of Staff and to the Office of Executive Director.


    In this high-visibility role you will provide coordination, monitoring, and communication of projects and programs managed through the Office of Executive Director.

    This position will work in partnership with other office staff and will serve as a back-up on various Governor's Office duties.


    Responsibilities of the Executive Assistant:

    • You will provide administrative and logistical support to the Executive Director and Chief of Staff.
    • You will assist in tracking projects and tasks assigned to all divisions and coordinating tasks for special projects as needed.
    • You will organize meeting logistics for the Office of the Executive Director.
    • You will provide phone coverage when needed and ensure all e-mails are responded to timely.
    • You will also assist with communications, correspondence and tracking of responses.
    • You will manage the calendars, scheduling of meetings, appointments, and assist with overall calendar management for the Executive Office.
    • You will keep the Executive Director and Chief of Staff advised of time-sensitive and priority issues, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
    • You will serve as back-up and have interaction with the Governor's Office to execute requests for administrative assistance and support where needed.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    A bachelor's degree and experience in public administration, business administration, planning or public relations. An equivalent number of years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the bachelor's degree.


    Additional Requirements:

    • The dynamic nature of this role requires that the ideal candidate have exemplary time-management skills and the ability to identify and anticipate the Executive Director's and Chief of Staff's needs
    • Must be highly organized with attention to detail and able to coordinate multiple tasks, handling all matters expeditiously.
    • Requires strong computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion.
    • Must be able to handle sensitive information and communications with discretion.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying a variety of policies and procedures and working with various levels of management.
    • Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
    • May be required to report to work during emergency situations.
    • Must exercise a high degree of confidentiality.
