    THE UNIT:

    - Allegheny General's 9A Onc Unit comprises 32 beds

    - RNs are both chemo certified and telemetry trained

    - Patience population management

    - Chemotherapy administration

    - Management of oncology patients

    - Management of palliative/hospice patients

    - Medical telemetry services

    Allegheny General Hospital:

    - A Level I Shock Trauma Center

    - 5 modern ICU's

    - Advanced Cancer Center

    - Over 550 Beds

    GENERAL OVERVIEW:

    Directs and delivers high-quality nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the process. Responsible for coordinating the daily clinical and operational aspects of the unit.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    - Supervises, monitors, and gathers data on facility and department quality and satisfaction metrics

    - Acts as a clinical expert and role model for staff, monitoring and guiding their performance

    - Demonstrates strong leadership skills through effective communication and interpersonal interactions

    - Utilizes the nursing process to coordinate patient care plans for different age groups

    - Ensures optimal staffing levels and mix to maximize operational efficiency

    - Carries out other assigned duties as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum

    - Nursing Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience/education

    - Active Pennsylvania RN license

    Preferred

    - BSN certification

    - 3 years' experience in a clinical specialty

    - Previous supervisory role experience

    - Specialty area certification
