    POSITION SUMMARY We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Water/Wastewater Maintenance Worker within the DuPage County Stormwater Department located at the Marionbrook Underground Facility at 17W440 N.

    Frontage Rd., Darien, IL 60561.This position is included in the Bargaining Unit of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150DuPage County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.


    RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include:
    Performs landscaping and site maintenance for open space owned and managed by the departmentMaintains, installs, troubleshoots, rebuilds, and repairs and replaces various Stormwater Management equipment (e.g. landscape equipment, small motors and pumps, etc.)

    Ensures the operations of the stormwater facilities and drainage systems to the publicRemoves stream blockages and debris jamsFlushes, televises, and repairs storm sewer systemsMaintains and repairs Stormwater facilities and assists with the department's construction and excavation projectsOperates heavy equipment (e.g.

    dump trucks, skid loaders, front end loaders, vactor trucks, etc.)Holds integral role in construction of in-house drainage and stormwater improvement projectsEnsures jobs are completed in a cautious, safe and orderly mannerOrders parts and fills out material requestsRepairs lift stations and responds to emergencies with occasional assistance to the public works department (e.g.

    water main breaks, sewer back-ups, lift stations problems, etc.)Supervises summer help on lawn maintenance, painting, cleaning and related workTrains employees in lower level maintenance positions REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:

    High School Diploma or GED equivalentThree (3) years of specialized experience in preventative and corrective maintenance, wastewater and water collection distribution systems and treatment plant knowledge, equipment maintenanceOne (1) year of lead worker responsibilitiesRequired to obtain an Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with an air brakes and tanker endorsement within six (6) months of hire.

    A post offer physical is required.
    A pre-employment background check is required.
    This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing requirements of the United States Department of Transportation
