- Neuro muscular diseases / status epileptic us / brain tumor
- Ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke and associated interventions
- Patients requiring ventilatory care, external ventricular devices, targeted temperature management, continuous renal replacement therapy and neuro muscular paralytics.
- Trauma including traumatic brain injury and orthopedic injury

Surgical/Neuro ICU is a sixteen-bed unit. Nurse to patient ratio is 2:1 Our team includes 24/7 intensivist coverage, virtual ICU, and Physician Assistants. Our
leadership
includes a nurse manager, clinical nurse supervisor and charge RNs. The SICU is home to the hospital's rapid response team that responds to calls throughout the hospital and stroke arrivals to the ED. Mercy South is a trauma level two center and a Joint Commission Comprehensive Center for stroke care.
