- Install, configure, and maintain database software.
- Monitor database system performance and implement efficiency improvements.

- Collaborate with software developers to optimize database applications.

- Assist in capacity planning and data storage management.
- Create and enforce database standards and best practices.
- Participate in on-call support and troubleshooting as needed.
- Manage database access and permissions.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Stay updated with industry developments and best practices.
- Document database infrastructure and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator.
- Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management tools.
- Experience with database security and backup/recovery solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of data integrity, normalization, and optimization techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator are a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based databases is desirable.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or Java is a plus.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
