Job summary
This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division. The Housekeeping Aid executes a full range of housekeeping activities in patient and non-patient care areas.Responsibilities
- Performs floor maintenance - wall washing
Cleans doors - doorframes - baseboard corners and edges - and stairwells
Tasks are accomplished by sweeping - dust mopping - damp and wet mopping - scrubbing - stripping - refinishing - buffing vacuuming and extracting carpets and runners spot cleaning areas high and low dusting Periodically utilizes pressure washers heavy industrial powered equipment the above task Adjusts cleans performs minor maintenance on this equipment changes attachments for their proper use achieving best results Empties trash wastebaskets replaces liners Transports general refuse regulated medical waste recycling to central collection areas Cleans rest rooms bathrooms shower rooms ensuring that they are cleaned meet acceptable standards cleans disinfects deodorizes lavatories showers bathtubs urinals toilet bowls cleans mirrors sinks water fountains Washes polishes light toilet fixtures Replenishes supplies paper towels toilet paper hand sanitizers soap all areas where dispensers are located Moves arranges furniture patient wardrobes beds etc assigned area accomplish cleaning tasks Provides bed-making services patient care areas OD rooms Cleans mattresses springs bed frames bedside stands over bed lights blood pressure cuffs bed tables etc patient rooms Removes bags soiled textiles from patient rooms transports designated soiled room each ward area Loads unloads clean textiles bulk carts Restocks clean textile closets cabinets shelves carts participates inventory management activities Defrosts cleans refrigerators ice machines nourishment kitchen areas Cleans stainless steel storage instrument counters elevators lobbies wards diet-kitchens nurse utility smoke water fountain Provides interim window window ledges inside glass door surfaces Replaces curtains blinds Cleans needle boxes Periodically specific non-critical reusable medical equipment RME inpatient clinical areas medical center May work provide guidance Compensated Work Therapy worker perform duties assigned Work Schedule 7:00am-3:30pm 10:00am-6:30pm 2:30pm-11:00pm 10:30pm-7:Job description
