Job Description

As a Security Officer - Controlled Entry Desk in Florence, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a high-traffic retail location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, greet shoppers and staff, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, clear communication. You will stay visible, complete routine patrols, document activity, and support a welcoming customer experience. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and retail staff by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.

Monitor entry and exit points at the retail location, verify credentials as required, manage visitor logs, and direct deliveries and vendors to designated receiving areas.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and promptly notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.

Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, corridors, stairwells, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.

Complete required documentation such as daily activity reports, incident reports, and access control records, and communicate pertinent updates during shift handoff.

Minimum Requirements:

Have 2+ years law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.

Have 2+ years security experience.

Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

Have customer service experience, preferred.

Have CPR certification, preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
