    A Few Essential Job Functions:

    • You will be the keeper of the keys, so to speak. You'll own and maintain files related to the auto claim investigation and policies so you can make informed and fair decisions for all of our customers.
    • You'll coordinate all parties involved in the settlement of the claims and recognize when certain aspects related to injuries and total losses need to be handed off to other team members.
    • You'll investigate, evaluate, process, and settle clear and comparative liability automobile claims.
    • Like a good detective, you'll orchestrate clear and comparative liability investigations that include recorded statements and an understanding of different negligence laws by state.
    • A systematic approach of evaluating facts, coverage, liability and reserves, and estimating repair or replacement costs to determine a fair and equitable settlement is required.
    • You'll serve as a negotiator to determine settlements with individuals, other insurance carriers, and/or attorneys, as well as process loss settlements.
    • Phone skills are a necessity as you'll be receiving inquiries on claim status and coverage.
    • Completes appropriate oral, written, and online reports to reflect and supplement all file activity.
    • You'll consider each loss submitted and review and apply coverage accordingly.
    • Mentors Claim Representatives and Specialists including assisting with training.
    • To mix it up a bit, you may also handle specialized claim duties such as pet claims, glass claims, and more.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    What you'll Need:

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    Required
    • Associate degree or equivalent experience
    • Typically requires 3+ years of industry experience
    Preferred or Specialized
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Prior P&C claim handling experience
    CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
    • Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Management (AIM), or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred.

    Demonstrated ability to:
