    Description
    We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Pulmonary and Medical IMC team at University Hospital in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate will have six months of nursing experience or be currently participating in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, but not required. This role offers a competitive salary and shift/weekend differential pay. The nurse will work on a 29-bed unit providing comprehensive care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability. The successful candidate will possess critical thinking skills, adaptability, and a commitment to high-quality patient care. They will also be encouraged to pursue specialty certification in Medical-Surgical and/or Progressive Care Nursing.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients.
    • Communicate effectively with care teams to promote smooth transitions amongst levels of care.
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
    • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic healthcare setting.

    Requirements:

    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact.
    • Current CPR/BLS Certification.
    • ACLS within 6 months of hire.
