    Position Overview


    We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented data scientist to support R&D data analytics working out of our Technical Innovation Center.

    This role involves not only gathering, analyzing, and interpreting R&D data but also overseeing the work of contract business intelligence (BI) analysts to ensure the delivery of actionable insights that will drive our innovation and product development strategies.

    The ideal candidate will have a robust background in business intelligence and data analytics, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for technology and innovation.

    This position is crucial for making data-driven decisions that align with our strategic goals, enhancing our R&D efforts, and managing external BI resources efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities
    Collaborate closely with the R&D teams to understand their decision-making process, workflows, and data analysis goals, and translate into analytics/reporting requirements
    Design, develop, and maintain scalable dashboards, and other business intelligence tools and data models to support R&D decision making and tracking of R&D metrics and KPIs

    Conduct in-depth analysis of data using statistical methods and tools to identify trends, patterns, and insights that influence product development decisions.

    Prepare and present regular reports to R&D management teams, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and potential areas for improvement

    Directly manage and oversee the work of contract business intelligence analysts, ensuring quality control, alignment with project objectives, and effective utilization of external resources.

    Serve as the primary point of contact for contract BI analysts, coordinating tasks, managing timelines, and facilitating communications between external analysts and internal teams.

    Secondary Responsibilities
    Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in business intelligence technologies to continuously improve analytics capabilities
    Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in the implementation of data-driven strategies to enhance R&D productivity and efficiency.

    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in data analytics, data science, computer science, economics, information systems, statistics, or another closely related field

    Minimum 5 years proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role, ideally supporting R&D or product development teams.

    Minimum 1 year of experience managing people
    Experience using Power BI, SQL, and either R or Python
    Experience in a Microsoft Azure environment
    Strong project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
    Customer facing experience working directly with and supporting data analytics needs of internal data analytics customers
    Ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear and effective manner to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    Experience harmonizing data from multiple systems and/or files
    Experience analyzing complex data sets and generating insights
    Critical thinking skills with the ability to connect the dots between data sets and business relevant insights
    Proven success multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred Qualifications
    Experience with food R&D or product development
    Master's degree in data analytics, data science, computer science, or statistics
    Experience with Denodo
    Experience with SalesForce, SAP, CompuSense, and DevEx systems
