    Summary

    Zero to Thrive is seeking 2 full time Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC) to support the MC3 Perinatal Expansion Program.

    The MC3 Perinatal program offers psychiatry support to perinatal providers in Michigan who are caring for women who are contemplating pregnancy, pregnant, or postpartum (up to one year).

    The expansion project seeks to spread MC3 Perinatal to more sites across Michigan and to integrate an electronic behavioral health screener into clinics to gauge patient need.

    The BHCs will support the project by delivering Telehealth services including mental health expertise, case management and care coordination directly to preconception and perinatal women.

    Responsibilities** Provide Telehealth care assessment, brief psychotherapy intervention, psychoeducation, case management and referral services for pre-conception and pregnant women who are identified through an electronic screening mechanism.


    • Conduct additional screenings and assessments, including comprehensive assessments and treatment planning with measurable objectives.
    • Track patient progress using standard metrics, and report out in weekly panel reviews with psychiatrist.
    • Provide coordination of care including connecting patients with community programs such as community mental health, substance abuse programs and agencies providing basic needs services.
    • Provide continual follow-up to ensure patient successfully connects with referral agencies.
    • Build relationships with community agencies to ensure smooth referral transitions.
    • Participate in weekly supervision and case consultation/panel review.
    • Complete clinical documentation accurately in the outlined timeframe.
    • Support development, evaluation, and effective implementation of program.
    Required Qualifications** Master's degree in social work, psychology or other related human service field.

    • 2-4 years' experience providing mental health services preferably to perinatal women.
    • Experience with Zoom and or similar video conferencing software.
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel or other data management platforms as part of patient data tracking.
    • Ability to work remotely.
    • Limited or full licensure in the state of Michigan.
    • Knowledge of adult mental illness, Infant Mental Health and child development.
    • Understanding of the effects of trauma, toxic stress, and adverse childhood experiences on pregnancy.
    • Ability to conduct and document clinical assessments.
    • Ability to develop treatment plans and coordinate needed services to fulfill plans.
    • Competence in the delivery of crisis intervention services and brief and time-limited therapy.
    • Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse families and populations.
    Work Schedule

    This position is full time, and most work will be completed Monday through Friday.

    This position will be primarily remote.

    This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

    Background Screening


    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings.

    Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.

    Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.


    In addition to the screenings indicated above under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
