Sterile Processing Technician Certified

• Inspect, clean, assemble, test, and process patient care equipment, supplies, and instruments following established policies and manufacturer's instructions.
• Adhere to sterility standards set by AAMI, JCAHO, CDC, and state regulations.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform decontamination including manual cleaning of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Inventory, stock, and deliver supplies following guidelines, maintaining inventory levels.
• Document quality control aspects using information technology systems.
• Operate sterilizers, ensuring quality assurance through regular monitoring.
• Identify and resolve infection control issues.
• Participate in educational opportunities and staff orientation.

Licensing/Certification

Must have one of the following certifications: CRCST, HSPA, or CBSPD.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Work Experience

Previous experience in a surgical setting preferred.

Training

Experience with EPIC preferred.
