    Job Summary:
    The Director, Accounting oversees the day-to-day accounting over revenue, AR, billing, and sales commission activities within the Finance organization.

    Considered a subject matter expert within a specific accounting discipline and an influencer who manages professional-level teams responsible for complex accounting analysis and accurate journal entries.

    The director has significant impact and is responsible for providing insight and influences across the business; liaises with senior-level leadership to explain and advise on complex accounting measures.

    This position ensures the highest level of financial reporting accuracy through the maintenance of internal systems and adherence to financial reporting processes.


    Job Responsibilities:
    Prepare or review journal entries and account reconciliations on various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
    Demonstrate a detailed understanding of U.S.

    GAAP; ensure the team is in compliance with approved technical accounting policies; assist with the implementation of approved new technical accounting policies.

    Execute and lead team to execute accurate and timely close process, ensuring all deadline are successfully achieved.
    Review, investigate, document, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

    Lead, coach, and mentor a team of accountants and/or senior accountants, reviewing the teams' work to ensure compliance with accounting policies.

    Establish strong working relationships with all levels of the business, including senior leadership, acting as a liaison to explain complex accounting measures and gather relevant information from the respective business functions.

    Analyze complex issues during the close process and provide recommendations to senior leadership. Identify and recommend significant close efficiencies, mapping out and implementing subsequent process changes.
    Review and analyze complex contracts and produce journal entries or ledger transactions that accurately reflect the analysis.
    Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements to provide timely and accurate income statement and balance sheet variance explanations.
    Possess an in-depth knowledge of processes occurring in the field and proactively recommends potential changes to policy and/or processes.
    Partner in the development of and adherence to SOX and substantive audit documentation requirements. Assist with the management of quarterly and annual Financial and SOX audit.
    Assist with the management of the team to ensure close activities are on schedule.
    Lead various special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed or assigned.

    Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.

    As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk

    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financerequired, CPA required.
    10+ years of accounting experience required;public accounting experiencewith Big 4 or large regionalfirm
    Excellentorganization, accuracy,and attention to detail.

    Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives;proven ability to advise and influence senior leaders.

    Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
    Advancedapplicationtechnical and operational knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
    Knowledgeable regarding SOX and interactions with external auditors.
    Ability to execute in a dynamic and demanding environment by demonstrating organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.

    Demonstrated initiative, works well under pressure, highly detail oriented, self-motivated with the ability to follow through and implement process improvement.

    Strong skills with Microsoft Office software tools.

    Salary:
    The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $155,000.
