    Marathon TS is in search of a Systems Administrator Mid to support the efforts of our client at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia
    Seeking a Command Center Specialist to support efforts for NMCI SMIT; NMCI SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy
    Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport portion of NMCI SMIT, the Command Center team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport
    Ultimately, will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network
    Responsible for monitoring and reporting on incidents and events impacting the infrastructure and network
    This includes responding appropriately to alerts and events and from triage through resolution, including escalations, where appropriate
    Document daily shift activities in appropriate reporting and ticketing tools and ensure proper pass down of any outstanding issues
    Provide incident notification to Government representatives
    Primary Responsibilities


    • The Watch Stander assists with lifecycle oversight of Government Directed Actions to ensure implementations are completed in accordance with established timeframes.
    • Ensure real time information exchange of operational, critical situations, and disaster preparedness to operational customer.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
    • Assists with and occasionally hosts business continuity restoration calls.
    • Utilize internal systems to report incidents to leadership.
    • Takes escalations if any alerts/events are identified by monitoring analysts as significant and requiring action.
    • Performs initial assessment and triage on the criticality and impact of events and engages the appropriate processes and personnel if escalation outside OC is required.
    • Drafts and issues User Alert Bulletins (UAB) as necessary.
    • Drafts and issues Situational Reports (SITREP) as necessary.
    • Hosts Critical Situation calls (CRITSIT) as necessary.
    • Assists with the creation of Microsoft excel spread sheets and process needed.
    • Provides support to Site Operations and other external organizations through the use of problem resolution skills and independent decision making.
    • Maintains timely (5 minutes or less) response to network infrastructure warning, critical and fatal event alert notices.
    • Responsible for generating well-documented Critical Incident Reports for leadership .
    • Ensures the Watch Officer is apprised of all details regarding any significant events or incidents
