    SUMMARY


    The Systems Technician is responsible for serving all staff and student technology users by assuring access to and providing end-user support with the school and parish IT-related resources.

    Requirements


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Under the direction of the school principal, develops and maintains technology plans in accordance with the needs and within the budgetary constraints of the school, making technology-related purchasing recommendations as needed.
    • Implements Diocesan Acceptable Use Policy; adjusts content filter rules and adds exceptions as needed.
    • Creates and manages user accounts for software and network; ensures teacher data is being backed up regularly.
    • Sets up and maintains school databases.
    • Develops and maintains the website.
    • Maintains an inventory of all software and hardware; manages warranty and license documents, software patches and upgrades.
    • Serves as liaison to and works with the local and diocesan technology committees; teams with diocesan staff in filing E-Rate grant.
    • Previews, orders, purchases, installs, and maintains software and hardware as needed; manages printers- both networked and desktop.
    • Troubleshoots hardware and software problems for a timely resolution, working with providers and vendors to arrange for outside support when needed.
    • Replaces/purchases and upgrades hardware and software (desktops, laptops, netbooks, tablets, etc.) as required, considering the budgetary constraints of the overall organization and individual departments.
    • Collaborates and teams with school and parish staff on various tasks and projects in order to deliver against organizational goals and deadlines as needed.
