    Position Summary:The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for dispatching and forecasting equipment to ensure equipment levels are maintained at terminals/ports, as designated by the demand of stakeholders.

    This position is also responsible for maintaining various reports and providing reports to management on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

    The duties of this role include reviewing, processing, and inputting manual invoices into proprietary systems (CMS) for payment processing The Logistics coordinator oversees local training and interaction with the local motor carrier community.


    Responsibilities:


    Coordinate daily supply and demand forecasting of intermodal chassisMaintain inventories, and issue flips and swings as necessaryCoordinate & process dispatch requirements in support of bare chassis repositioning in multiple marketsOversee and maintain the spreadsheets and reports for the coop and de-coop projectsCommunicate with area depots, marine, and rail terminals to resolve service issuesAssist Data department in reconciling depot and terminal inventoriesProvide a personable, professional, and confident customer experience over the phoneCommunicate with motor carriers regarding service levels and adherence to service guidelinesRecommend chassis supply solutions during peak periods or special customer needsPrepare and disseminate information to managementNegotiate drayage rates with motor carrier companies to ensure best termsMonitor & report on service levels to drive vendor choiceMaintain records of vendor rate agreementsProcess vendor invoices for payment as requiredAccept or reject vendor invoices per rate and job order agreementsManage department projects (voluntary withdrawals, etc.) as assignedTrain colleagues in day-to-day processes and systems to ensure operational continuityProvide consistent and timely communication to customers and stakeholders pertaining to all aspects of equipment movementOther duties as assignedRequirements:Bachelors degree or 3-5 years experience, with prior experience in dispatch operations or logistics/equipment control, is preferred.
