    SCOPE:


    The Director, Market Access, and Reimbursement (DMAR) is a highly visible position within SIRTEX, reporting to the Global EVP Health Economic, Pricing, Reimbursement & Market Access (HEPRA).

    The primary focus of this role is to develop and execute the US payer strategy and manage key relationships with payers and providers to ensure the best-in-class reimbursement and coverage for SIRTEX products.


    The Director, Market Access, and Reimbursement (DMAR) will be a key member of the US senior leadership team and will serve as the internal subject matter expert advising on payer/ provider business models and management, industry trends and how they will evolve and the implications for current and future SIRTEX pipeline products.


    The DMAR is responsible for conducting their activities on behalf of the company consistent with a high standard of business ethics and in compliance with the laws and regulations that govern our activities.


    The obligation encompasses the following:

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead the market access and reimbursement strategy and execution for the SIRTEX portfolio and collaborate cross-functionally on the development of strategic access plans for all SIRTEX in-market assets, new assets, pipeline products inclusive of access landscape development, access customer segmentation, payer strategy, organized customer contracting and channel strategy, pricing, and value proposition development.
    • Work with the commercial team to develop account specific access strategies and implementation plans that remove negative coverage and payment barriers.
    • Communicate access-specific strategies to internal business partners for incorporation into brand planning and field tool development.
    • Develop specific access resources and act as a liaison with all cross-functional teams to ensure pull-through activities are aligned with commercial objectives and priorities.
    • Help shape the access strategy in the evolving healthcare landscape inclusive of policy changes, payment reform, and evolving provider dynamics.
    • Lead development of the market access and reimbursement strategy and execution plans across payers, organized customers, pathways, and other access-influencing organizations for the ongoing support of the SIRTEX product and portfolio strategic imperatives in collaboration with commercial colleagues.
    • Critically evaluate current procedures and practices. Develop and implement improvements as needed.
    • Champion priority access initiatives with meaningful impact to the business to commercial leadership
    • Collaborate with Market Access Strategy counterparts in other regions to share learnings that will drive commercial success.
    • Lead the development of the payer value story, supported by credible clinical, health economics and quality of life messages to justify product value; interfaces with medical and clinical team to guide evidence generation efforts that support payer value story development.
    • Leverage understanding of the competitive landscape to anticipate and pre-empt future competitor moves by developing innovative strategies and tactics across Market Access
    • Develop and retain team of the best Market Access and Reimbursement Managers and be accountable for development plans and employee engagement.
    • Normal and customary supervisory responsibilities including budget management, performance evaluation, coaching, discipline etc.
    • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.

    DEVELOPING EXPERTISE:

    • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge concerning the scientific data that underpins the clinical benefits of Sirtex products and comparator treatments.
    • Develop reference knowledge of related health economic and clinical literature; seek to understand changing customer requirements and the implications of these to support market access throughout the life cycle in key markets.
    • Maintain and deepen a sound understanding of relevant Reimbursement & Market Access criteria and the likely payer perception of the product value proposition for Sirtex products.
    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA, MPA, MPH, MHA, MS, MSc in health policy, health economics, healthcare administration, health services research, public health or similar discipline is highly desired.
    • Minimum 10 years in health care reimbursement management
    • Minimum 5 years in private and public payer facing experience (e.g., account management, contract administration, reimbursement management, etc.) Medical device background preferred, oncology and/or interventional radiology experience a plus.
    • Individuals must be able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, capable of managing high pressure situations with both internal and external customers.
    • Strong analytic and investigative skills; able to get to the bottom of an issue.
    • Detail and deadline oriented
    • Skilled in project management, research, and data analysis
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
    • Experience leading functional and cross-functional teams.
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry and healthcare systems.
    • Experienced and knowledgeable regarding CMS/Medicare policies and processes including an in-depth understanding of the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS), the Ambulatory Surgery Center Payment System (ASC), and the Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS).
    • Working knowledge of CPT codes, Relative Value Units (RVUs), HCPCS codes, Ambulatory Payment Categories (APCs), Medicare Severity-Diagnosis Related Groupings (MS-DRGs) and ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes.
    Familiarity of reimbursement dynamics by site of service specifically regarding medical device procedures in non-hospital facilities (e.g., ASC, physician office, office-based labs, etc.) compared with hospital facilities (hospital inpatient, hospital outpatient)

    The target base salary range for this position will range from $218,000 to $246,000 annually.

    Individual compensation for this job requisition will be based on non-discriminatory factors, including your geographic location, skills, experience, education and other factors as they relate to the position requirements.

    Actual compensation may vary depending on the confirmed job-related skills and experience.


    In addition to the expected base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in Sirtex's incentive programs (target bonus of 20% for this position) and benefit plans, which include paid sick and vacation time, health insurance and a generous 401k matching program.
