    About the Opportunity
    The Billing Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle.

    They will lead and manage a team of billing specialists and client account representatives who are responsible for ensuring accurate billing and effective collections of both insurance and client receivables.

    Responsibilities
    • Oversee all aspects of the middle/end revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, and denials management.
    • Collaborates with executive leadership to facilitate and maintain internal and external reporting requirements.
    • Identifies, implements, and monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Collaborate with clinical operations leaders and other cross-functional teams, as appropriate, to reduce preventable errors, minimize denials, and improve the client experience.
    • Review, approve, and communicate department-related expenses and client & insurance refunds.
    • Ensure the activities of the billing team are conducted in a manner that is consistent with the overall department protocol and are compliant with federal, state, and payor regulations, guidelines, and requirements in an effort to identify and prevent Fraud and Abuse.
    • Analyze data trends affecting charges, coding, collections, accounts receivable, and write-offs and propose improvement opportunities to executive leadership.
    • Develop, maintain, and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and work practices to ensure maximum accuracy of financial and insurance data.
    • Remain current on all industry trends and developments to proactively identify opportunities for revenue cycle optimization.
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.
    • Interview prospective team members and choose the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the job.
    • Oversee the training of all new billing team members.
    • Perform quarterly performance reviews for all team members.

    Education, Experience, and Skills
    • Extensive knowledge of the rules and regulations that govern HIPAA, insurance billing, and client payment and collections (behavioral health billing a plus).
    • Effectively analyzes and visually presents data in a clear and concise manner.
    • Works closely with the VP of Revenue Cycle to achieve metrics that exemplify a best-in-class provider organization.
    • Leader with mentorship mentality to be able to develop, supervise, and grow a productive billing team.
    • Strong organizational, administrative, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
    • Ability to work independently and make sound judgements within established guidelines.
    • Capability to foster collaborative interdepartmental relationships.
    • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Effectively present information and data to executive leadership, RCM team, client representatives, and vendors.
    • Comfort and capability to communicate financial responsibility and collect from clients compassionately.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
    • Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.
    • Extensive Microsoft Office experience to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
    • Extreme attention to detail.
    • Associate's degree in related field required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
    • Minimum of 6 years' experience in healthcare billing and collections with progressive leadership experience of at least 3 years.
