- Contract days are dependent upon the building assignment
- Salary is dependent upon experience
- Valid Missouri educator certification for principal
- Master's degree in an approved program for principal certification.
- Specialist or Doctorate degree is preferred
- Knowledge of current research and best educational practices of the principalship.
- Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Skills in human relations, leadership, and conflict management.
- Demonstrate working effectively with community groups, parents, and agencies.
- Working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities is preferred
- Assist the principal in implementing the school's academic vision and district goals.
- Support curriculum planning, instructional delivery, and assessment practices to meet diverse student needs.
- Use student performance data to monitor achievement, identify trends, and support instructional improvement.
- Monitor student grades and credit accumulation and assist with plans to support promotion and graduation requirements.
- Coordinate and implement academic interventions for students at risk of failure or credit deficiency.
- Support professional development initiatives to strengthen instructional practices and staff effectiveness.
- Assist with integrating technology and innovative instructional strategies into classrooms.
- Support daily school operations, including schedules, supervision coverage, and resource use.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations.
- Support school safety initiatives, emergency preparedness, and supervision of facilities and grounds.
- Assist with budget monitoring and resource allocation as assigned.
- Promote a positive, inclusive school climate that supports students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Coordinate supervision for extracurricular activities and student events.
- Implement and monitor student behavior and discipline programs aligned with district expectations.
- Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and families to address individual student needs and concerns.
- Participate in ongoing professional development aligned with current research and best practices.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified staff as assigned.
- Participate in the evaluation of certified and classified staff, providing feedback and support under the direction of the principal.
- Foster collaboration and teamwork among staff members.
- Support recognition of staff accomplishments and contributions.
- Represent the school at events and meetings as delegated by the principal.
- Assist with family and community engagement efforts, including communication and outreach.
- Support parent involvement in school activities and decision-making processes.
- Reinforce high expectations for student behavior, academic achievement, and staff professionalism.
- Assist with school improvement initiatives aligned to the school's mission and vision.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent, or designee. - Ability to work in a climate-controlled building, as well as in inclement weather.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for long periods of time.
- Ability to see and read, with or without vision aids, a computer screen and printed matter, and to distinguish colors.
- Sufficient hearing to understand speech at normal room levels, and to hear and understand speech on the telephone.
- Manual dexterity to operate a telephone/ enter data into a computer using both hands.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation, on the telephone, and when addressing groups.
- Ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, pull, grasp, and carry a variety of objects of different shapes and sizes.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel to buildings within the district.
- Able to perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Position Overview: The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in providing instructional leadership, managing school operations, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment. This role focuses on implementing the school's academic vision, monitoring student achievement and behavior, and supporting teachers and staff through supervision, feedback, and professional growth.
