- Independently manage a caseload
- Conduct comprehensive intake, needs, and mental status assessments; conduct and write comprehensive psycho-socials and psychiatric evaluations, as assigned
- Provide short-term therapeutic counseling and crisis intervention; support safety planning; conduct risk assessments and psychoeducation for high-risk clients
- Work with clients to develop goals and plans for independent living
- Support clients in achieving concrete goals by providing referrals and, when appropriate, direct assistance applying and/or attending appointments for: mental health services, medical care, substance treatment, continuing education, workforce development, vital documents, benefits, childcare, and affordable housing
- Maintain familiarity with social services and resources available both on-site and in the community
- Document all interactions with or on behalf of clients; monitor and document regular service plan updates as well as each client's progress towards the goals outlined in the service plan
- Coordinate with ACS and/or preventive services agencies when a family is child-welfare involved
- Provide group sessions/workshops as assigned by the supervisor
- Conduct home/field visits and regular case conferences with clients and other services providers, as required
- ·Attend individual and group clinical supervision sessions
- Master's degree in Social Work with the ability to obtain state licensure within 6 months of hire date
- Knowledge and experience working with diverse and trauma-impacted communities
- Knowledge and experience with trauma-informed, strengths-based, and family-centered care and treatment practices
- Knowledge of guidelines, policies, and regulations relating to child welfare, safety, permanency, and wellness
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in modern business communications and technology
- Bilingual/multilingual preferred, but not required

- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, bend and retrieve objects and/or documents, and to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation. if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.

BronxWorks has operated shelters for homeless families in the Bronx via contracts with the NYC Department of Homeless Services since 1995. Across our three residences, we serve approximately 275 families made up of around 900 adults and children. BronxWorks provides on-site case management and counseling to residents, who live in individual family units with an on-site medical clinic, childcare services, and 24/7 security. Our dedicated clinical and case management staff help families develop and work towards their educational, health, employment, and other goals, with the ultimate objective of connecting them to sustainable permanent housing. To best serve our clients, we provide the majority of services in-person.
