Job Summary:
Nurse Practitioner under the limited direction of the attending Physician or designee performs physical examinations orders evaluates and monitors medical and laboratory diagnostic tests and treatment plans educates counsels patient and family members on conditiondesired results of treatment plans expectations during illness recovery. Participates in management of patient care determining need for consultation to ensure continuity quality of care. Performs routine invasive procedures develops outpatient care writes medication other orders as prescribed by law participates in laboratory quality assurance with semiannual competency testing provides clinical supervision STD TB clinic RNs performs a variety of patient care activities assigned outpatient clinic responds emergencies initiates appropriate treatment until relieved duties by physician emergency personnel works assigned hours including clinic sessions outside normal work hours may have extended hours certain days due urgent patient needs maintains enhances expertise through appropriate educational organizational activities manages contact investigation active TB cases provide supervision TB Disease Intervention Specialist Staff oversee their management.
