    Summary:

    Head, Vice President of Medical Affairs is responsible for designing Medical Affairs strategy and building out the Medical Affairs organization for Verastem Oncology, supporting the transition of the company from Research and Development organization to a commercially focused company. This person will oversee the organization including development of strategies and supporting tactical execution for a wide array of sub-functions (Strategy and Operations, Field Medical Affairs, Medical Communications, Evidence Generation and HEOR, Patient Advocacy), interacting with senior leadership, and taking a "hands-on" approach in a lean organization. This role will be a balance of cross-functional leadership, "do-it-yourself", and managing a mix of direct reports and external consultants and vendors. The ideal candidate will have broad experience across multiple functions within Medical Affairs, a proven track record of successful launches in the US and Europe, and experience in oncology drug development. This person will lead the design, development and implementation of programs related to educational, promotional and reporting materials for products related to related to Phase III, Phase IV trials, solicited and non-solicited studies, and publications for the current and future portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Build medical affairs strategy for product launch and pipeline assets as they come along

    Responsible for the Medical Affairs team, including MSLs, Medical Communication/Publications/Education, Medical Information

    Provides medical/clinical expertise to internal (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Market Access, Regulatory, R&D, and Legal) and external (healthcare professionals, patients, advocacy groups, etc.)

    Develop and manage clinical advisors and KOL relationships, assist in the selection of outside experts and maintain key relationships around clinical trials, guidelines and advisory boards

    Develops and delivers scientific and medical presentations, organizes and leads medical advisory boards, participates in investigator meetings, provides medical support to commercial advisory boards. Identify relevant medical meetings and congresses; determine appropriate participation

    Support Sales and Marketing teams with therapy area and drug related materials, training and educational updates

    Foster and facilitate Investigator Sponsored Trial submissions/review and execution to support new indication development

    Required Qualifications:

    MD or equivalent degree, strong preference for sub-specialization training in oncology

    10+ years of management experience in medical affairs, clinical development

    Experience launching oncology products in the US market required

    Experience with oral products preferred
