Performs corrective surgery on gums and supporting bones to treat gum diseases. Extract's teeth and make models and measurements for dentures to replace missing teeth. Provides education on diet, brushing, flossing, the use of fluorides, and other aspects of dental care. Supervises dental hygienist and dental assistant.Applies advances in modern biology to clinical practice and to integrate new medical knowledge and therapies relevant to oral health care.
Applies the principles of behavioral science that pertain to patient-centered oral health care. Provides care to a diverse patient population. Communicates with patients, staff and colleagues concerning oral health care matters.
