    Description
    Our client is currently seeking a Structural engineer
    This position is onsite in Melbourne, FL - MUST be local This is a direct hire role.

    This job will have the following responsibilities:

    Under limited supervision - Work directly with operators/repair centers and coordinate with Aviation to produce structural repair solutions, modifications to wings, fuselage, skins, fairings, control surfaces, structural attachments, etc.

    Under limited supervision - Apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to propose suitable dispositions supported by appropriate data and justificationsProvide validation for documents delivered to customers, such as disposition letters (based on stress/design office validations only)Under limited supervision - Ensure FAA and EASA requirements by supplying substantiation as needed for repairs or modifications to aircraft structuresUnder limited supervision - Be the interface with our customers to support the implementation of approved modifications and repairsUnder limited supervision - Coordinate with internal departments, e.g., Spares, Technical Support, Programs, to ensure efficient management of customer's structural repair projectsManage on duty after-hours AOG projectsAttend and present at M&O seminars technical sessionsComplete the exchange program with DA Structure Repair teamWork on special projects/additional duties relevant to this job level as assigned by managementDevelop ASC or M&O presentationsOn duty rotations for after-hours AOG projects (approx.

    1 week every 5 to 6 weeks)Typical office environment, with regular hangar/ramp visitsDaily use of personal computer, desk and mobile phonesModerate noise levels when on ramps/in hangarsAbility to access all aircraft structural areas using stands, ladders, stairs, or squatting under wings, fuselageInternational travel to various facilities (St Cloud, Merignac, Martignas...)

    Travel as necessary to attend M&O seminar

    Qualifications & Requirements:
    BS degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering requiredEquivalent education may be consideredThree years experience with metal and composite repair engineering solutionsThree years minimum experience with structural repairsThree years experience working with structural repair manuals and illustrated parts cataloguesEquivalent experience may be consideredAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external customers in a professional manner (oral and written communication)

    Good project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects effectivelyAdvanced technical writing skillsPC computer and CAD drawing experience:

    Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Familiar with manipulation of CATIA V5 models - Familiar with FiniteElement / 3D Modeling using CATIA.Must be a team player with a cooperative and helpful nature.

    Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.

    Experience with FAR 25 Airworthiness Standards:
    Transport Category Aircraft and/or MMPDS (formally MIL- Handbook 5)Trained in critical thinking and public presentation.
    Experience with actual sheet metal repair or laboratory work.
    French language skills desiredPilot's and/or A&P license
