    Description

    UNM Hospitals is seeking a Registered Nurse to work part time nights in the Adult IP Admission Unit. The ideal candidate will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to patients, provide clinical leadership for other staff, and assume relief charge duties when designated. They should be a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups.

    Detailed responsibilities include delivering safe direct care, working within Hospital policies, collaborating with the healthcare team, assisting with special tests and procedures, participating in orientation, administering medication via the Seven Rights, maintaining a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment, enhancing professional growth and development, and following patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.

    • Education: Program Graduate (nationally accredited nursing graduate essential); Bachelor's degree (nonessential)
    • Experience: Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo (preferred)
    • Credentials: RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM and CPR/BLS certification for healthcare professionals or professional rescuers (within 30 days)
    • Physical Conditions: Heavy work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
    • Working conditions: Significant hazards: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials require PPE.
