- Directs a prescribed fire/fuels management program, preparing and implementing routine aspects of prescribed fire/fuels plans.
- Develops and recommends plans and schedules for prescribed fire, wildfire response, and fuels treatment projects.
- Utilizes a database to model and analyze fire behavior and effects observation data.
- Participates in planning and coordinating routine or limited aspects of the fuels management program.
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Background security investigation and a valid state driver's license are mandatory.
- Pre-employment and random drug testing required.

Experience and Education Requirements:
Note: This position falls under the Interagency Fire Program Management (IFPM) Standard for key fire management positions and requires specific experience levels equivalent to GS-08 or GS-09.
Selective Placement Factors:
Firefighter Retirement Coverage: This position is covered under firefighter special retirement provisions.
Prior Wildland Firefighting Experience: Prior firefighting experience is mandatory.
