    Job Summary

    ***POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED

    The Custodial Worker maintains the physical assets of Rice County facilities by providing an environment that is clean, disinfected, comfortable healthy environment and free of hazards for county employees and the public. This position performs a variety of semi-skilled and manual labor duties and tasks necessary to maintain county buildings, equipment and grounds. The Custodial Worker performs various cleaning and disinfecting tasks, repairs, furniture maintenance, grounds upkeep and related activities, ensuring safe work practices.

    Examples of Duties
    • Performs various duties related to the custodial duties for County buildings that maintain a clean, comfortable.
    • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on cleaning equipment. Replenishes cleaning supplies as needed utilizing County purchase orders and County credit card.
    • Serves as a back-up to the on-call weekend and holiday building checks, including to the boiler, observe general building conditions, and to ensure facilities and related systems are operating properly
    • Performs other duties as necessary.
    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    The position requires a high school diploma or GED, one to three years of experience with custodial, facilities maintenance or equivalent. A valid Class D driver's license is required at hire. Computer competency with MS Outlook and MS Office programs is required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Experience with custodial equipment is desirable.
    Supplemental Information

    UNION: GU Unit - Grade 5HOURS: Full-time, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
