    Job Description

    Position Overview: This position is responsible for overseeing the feed mill and grain operations, ensuring profitability, and driving the overall success of the location. This role involves customer relationship development, personnel growth, facility and equipment optimization, financial management, and short & long-term planning.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Include but are not limited to
    • Manage all functions of feed mill, delivery and grain manufacturing operations
    • Develop location personnel capabilitiesincludingassisting in hiring, coaching, training, building a team, performance management and task assignment
    • Maintain quality control standards and procedures set by management
    • Implement and maintain Best Manufacturing Processes on a daily basis
    • Ensure compliance with FSMA standards
    • Manage ingredient receivers and enter inventory into Feed Mill Manager
    • Oversee inventory quality, purchasing, and daily shrink
    • Supervise facility maintenance, housekeeping and documentation
    • Maintain six months of retained samples of incoming and outgoing ingredients and feeds by load or batch
    • Manage and maintain a fleet of trucks and the records required for operation and safety
    • Optimize mill production to maximize efficiencies daily
    • Annual budgeting and monthly reviewing of P & L statements
    • Manage location risk including compliance with regulations, safety and emergency response training,and ongoing site inspections
    • Conduct annual employee reviews and provide ongoing coaching throughout the year

    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
    • Ability to hire and maintain quality people and create a team environment
    • Ability and willingness to work long hours andbeon-call,as business conditions warrant
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, climbing stairs and ladders, and function in a variety of weather conditions.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs. at a time
    • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
    Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma required, bachelor's degree in agriculture or business preferred.
    • 2 years or more of related work experience, preferred.
