- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs and goals.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various academic subjects, including but not limited to English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively in the classroom.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and regularly communicate with parents/guardians regarding student achievements and areas for growth.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence, self-advocacy, and positive behavior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities such as autism, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation, as well as federal and state special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
- Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
