    NATURE OF DUTIES:

    The position serves as the Vice President of Finance for CIS providing oversight for accounting and coding.


    SPECIFIC DUTIES:


    • The Vice President of Finance provides oversight regarding authoritative policies and procedures to be followed by CIS employees regarding accounting and billing matters.
    • The Vice President of Finance provides the CEO, Board of Directors, and upper management personnel with comprehensive advice and recommendations on all accounting and billing matters.
    • The Vice President of Finance provides oversight of all accounts receivable, the prompt payment of all accounts payable, the accurate submissions of all insurance reimbursement claims, and the accurate processing of all payroll documents.
    • The Vice President of Finance ensures that the management information systems are responsive to the needs of management and employees.
    • The Vice President of Finance provides oversight to the supervisors and employees of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Management Systems, Billing, Collections, and Coding of CIS at all locations. This supervisory responsibility includes determining duties to be performed, setting deadlines, determining performance standards, evaluating employees, approving leave, recommending award or disciplinary procedures, and similar duties.
    • The Vice President of Finance makes recommendations on new-hires, schedules on-going training as needed, monitors employee performance, and ensures that the mission and goals of CIS are accomplished in a sound financial manner.
    • The Vice President of Finance serves on a management team recommending policies and procedures to executive management and the Board of Directors.
    • The Vice President of Finance attends meetings of the Board of Directors and provides authoritative advice and recommendations on any and all financial matters of concern to the board members.
    • The Vice President of Finance performs other related duties as assigned by the CEO and serves in whatever other capacity deemed necessary by the CEO for successful completion of the mission and goals of CIS and in concordance with its patient philosophy.

    STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:


    • The Vice President of Finance shall meet all deadlines and timeframes for completion of assignments made by the CEO.
    • The Vice President of Finance shall present current and accurate information on all accounting, billing, and coding matters and make effective recommendations to the CEO, other managers and supervisors, and employees without significant or substantive error more than on a rare or occasional basis as determined solely by the CEO. Matters requiring legal opinions shall be referred to appropriate in-house counsel.
    • The Vice President of Finance will exhibit whenever possible a harmonious relationship with other CIS employee in order to serve as the financial authority on all CIS operations in a productive manner. While perfect harmonious relationships with all employees is sometimes not achievable, not more than an occasional complaint, as determined solely by the CEO, should be received by the CEO regarding the Controller.
    • The Vice President of Finance will ensure that all accounting, billing, and coding procedures are followed by all offices of CIS and that any management letter on deficiencies from outside auditors is responded to in a prompt manner and explained satisfactorily to the CEO and Board of Directors.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:


    • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Business, or similar course of study is required. Master's or CPA preferred.
    • Five years experience in a leadership capacity or similar function is desirable.
    • Experience as a supervisor in a financial type of program is desirable.
    • An ability to become computer literate and learn computerized management information systems is desirable.
    • One year of experience as a project manager or similar position which featured duties involving problem solving and which required a demonstrated ability to accurately handle a variety of financial management tasks in a timely manner is required.
