    We are seeking a Generator Field Service Engineer to become an integral part of our team You will perform duties to ensure the reliability of power generation equipment [generators, engines (diesel, natural gas, methane, propane, etc), automatic transfer switches (ATS), switch gear, and other components and sub systems).

    A Field Service Engineer is considered to be more experienced than a technician, in that this person can act as a project manager, lead a team of field technicians, provide insights, coaching, and best practices to our field technicians.

    You will be the lead person to work on complex issues, determining root causes of failure, suggesting proper upgrades for systems and is more engaged the repair, integration, installation, upgrade, and engineering side of field service and is less involved with the maintenance side.


    Responsibilities:
    Research and design procedures as needed for field projects, safety, and other needs.

    Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis on power generation equipment as well as facilitate repairs

    Communicate with engineers and other team members to identify problems

    Perform work at customer sites (company provided vehicle)

    Perform in depth inspections on equipment

    Engages team members in projects and repairs.

    Assist lead engineers, sales, and project teams with various projects as needed

    Provides assistance to technicians to help resolve issues

    Will travel out of state and overnight stays as needed

    Will be on call

    Other responsibilities and duties as assigned


    Qualifications:
    Previous experience in the power generation field

    Must have strong mechanical or electrical troubleshooting skills

    Experience with medium voltage is a plus

    Must have general knowledge on paralleling gear, relays, protective devices and controls.

    Excellent root cause analysis skills

    Ability to work well in teams

    Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

    ESSA Journeyman certification is preferred

    Can drive a company work truck

    Can pull a trailer as needed

    Can lift 75+ pounds routinely

    Must have own tools (some special tools provided by the company)


    Must have knowledge, be proficient and demonstrate the ability to operate computers and programs such as Microsoft office products, Adobe Acrobat, and others.

    Clean MVR and valid state drivers license
