    Description

    About this position: As a mid-level software engineer at Accessibility Services, Inc. you will work to promote physical independence to our nation's veterans through technology. You will work on our C#, WPF client application to help foster a fast, stable and delightful end user experience. This is a permanent remote position, Central Florida based applicants only. In this position, you'll design and develop advanced forms of assistive technology to make the physical world accessible to those suffering from diseases such as ALS and spinal cord injuries.

    Ideal Candidate: Our ideal candidate is someone who has a high level of integrity, leads with empathy, and strives to use technology to make the world a more accessible place for those suffering from disabilities. Our ideal candidate should have 2 - 5 years of development experience, and should have experience working on FDA compliant, medical device software.

    Accessibility Services, Inc. (ASI) is the provider of the autonoME, the world's most advanced, customizable, integrated environmental control and speech generating device on the market. Our mission is to develop and provide innovative assistive technology to enhance independence and increase the quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injuries or have been diagnosed with a chronic, progressive disease such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or multiple sclerosis (MS). The autonoME allows our customers to enjoy independence, have a voice, and be able to easily and comfortably access computer programs and the internet.

    Qualifications:

    • 2 - 5 years of C# development experience
    • 2 - 5 years of WPF development experience
    • 2 - 5 years of MVVM development experience
    • 2 - 5 years of .NET Framework experience
    • 2 - 5 years of python experience
    • 2 - 5 years WinForms experience
    • 2 - 5 years of OOP experience
    • 2 - 5 years of SOLID design experience
    • 2 - 5 years of experience implementing design patterns to recurring software problems
    • 2 - 5 years of experience using GitHub
    • 2 - 5 years of experience using Microsoft office
    • 2 - 5 years of experience working in an agile environment
    • 1 year of experience using UML
    • 1 year of C++ development experience
    • 1 year of experience working with mesh networks and common home automation technology and protocols
    • 1 year of experience using XML
    • 1 year of experience using JSON
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems technology, or related work experience
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Work with QA and systems engineering teams on software requirements and changes
    • Working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 10 IOT and Windows 11
    • Working knowledge of Trello
    • Nice to have a working knowledge of Zoho

    Benefits

    • Salary range – $90,000 - $115,000 annually
    • Health – 60% of the employee's premium is paid by Accessibility Services. Vision and Dental insurance are available at100% of the cost paid by the employee. Employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
    • Life - $25,000 life insurance/AD&D benefit paid by Accessibility Services, Inc. with the option for employees to purchase up to an additional $100,000. Employees are eligible on the 1st day of the month following 60 days of employment.
    • 401k – Employee contributions up to $18,000 with before-tax and/or after-tax Roth options; Accessibility Services, Inc. may make a safe harbor/profit sharing non-elective contribution up to 3% of your taxable income. Employees are eligible to participate in the plan beginning the 1st day of the month following 60 days employment. Employee contributions and safe harbor contributions are considered 100% vested at time of contribution. Profit sharing contributions are 100% vested after three (3) years of service.
    • Vacation and Personal Time: Combines vacation/sick/personal days and accumulates bi-weekly (pay date) from date of hire. Year 1 is 8 days which is accumulated at 2.46 hours per pay. Years 2-5 is 13 days, accumulated at 4 hours per pay and 5 or more years is 18 days, accumulated at 5.32 hours per pay.
    • Paid Company Holidays: New Years' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and personal day.
