Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate AM Med Certified Caregiver to join our team, committed to providing exceptional care and support to individuals in various care settings. As an AM Med Certified Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized assistance with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional support. Your energetic and proactive approach will help create a safe, nurturing environment where clients feel valued and respected. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report findings to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care, utilizing specialized techniques to promote comfort and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices safely for resident transfers and mobility assistance
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient observations, care provided, and updates in compliance with healthcare standards
- Follow infection control protocols through cleaning, sanitation, and proper handling of medical supplies
- Engage residents in social activities and provide emotional support to foster a positive environment
Requirements
- Current AM Med Certification
- Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's disease or dementia is highly preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information
- Prior experience in hospice care or home health services is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced settings
