    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced RF Design Engineer to join our team at Teledyne Defense Electronics. As an RF Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of RF & Microwave high-power, solid-state amplifiers and amplifier systems. Lead the technical design effort of a product or system from concept to production including test methods and plans. Ensure that the product solution is functioning according to specifications. Work under general supervision. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action; a certain degree of creativity and latitude will be required.

    Requirements:

    • Design of RF & Microwave assemblies, analog circuits, power supplies and other components used in high-power, solid-state amplifiers and amplifier systems.
    • Design power amplifier matching networks using non-linear models & load-pull data
    • Develop the functional specifications for RF power amplifiers and amplifier systems.
    • Perform RF budget (cascade) analysis.
    • Responsible for the detailed design and schematic capture of the electronic circuits.
    • Work with production assemblers to construct evaluation circuits & prototypes.
    • Work with technicians or alone to test and evaluate new designs for production.
    • Develop, execute, and report on design verification tests on prototypes.
    • Lead projects to on-time completion of deliverables.
    • Responsible for the release of the engineering design package to the production configuration management system
    • Assist in customer proposal development.
    • Assist customers to understand how our products or systems will satisfy their technical application/needs.
    • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in RF and Microwave Circuit Design
    • Experience with RF specific tools such as Microwave Office, ADS, VSS, Genesys, Sonnet 3D Planar, HFSS & CST
    • Advanced RF/Analog/Digital lab skills.
    • Experience with standard lab equipment such as Vector Signal Analyzers/Generators, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes.
    • Knowledge of RF PCB layout fundamentals

    Education and/or Experience:

    Master's degree (M.S.) from an accredited college or university in engineering, electrical preferred, or physics and 2-5 years of directly related experience, or a bachelor's degree (B.S.) and 5-10 years of directly related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be accepted.

    • Active government security clearance or the ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
